Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City Tour (Vietnam)

April 19,2014: The last day of my Indochina Tour.  I still have one day though since my flight from Ho Chi Minh Vietnam to Manila is at 1am Sunday April 20.  Instead of sleeping inside the hotel to avoid the sunny weather, we just had to go out and do our walking city tour.

Notre Dame Cathedral. A French-built Catholic cathedral located in the city centre (Dong Khoi, District 1) next to the Post Office. The cathedral is officially known as the Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception. It was constructed between 1863 and 1880, with all original materials imported directly from France. The structure features two bell towers, reaching a height of 190 feet. No entrance fee is required.

The best and affordable Pho near the Saigon Square. Pho (pronounced “fahr”) is a light, fragrant soup eaten for breakfast and all through the day. It is one of the Vietnamese’s most loved dishes.

Last dinner with the Indochina peeps. I’ll miss this folks!

Happy to have shared this trip with them.
